There are many aspects of our universe that are unknown to us. Things that seemingly defy expectations or at the very least, you or I as an individual, have yet to grasp. We go through our innocuous string of daily events and never naturally encounter these things.

As I navigate the waters of life I am faced with concepts ranging from completely innocuous to preconceived notion shattering.

But through it all I retain the base fundamental idea that, if it is to be considered as something that one might define as “materialy and physically real” or “conceptually concrete”

A mug of tea, is real, you can directly interact with it in a very real and physical sense. I can say with 99.9% sureness that the cup, the tea, the sugar and the spoon are all real. Concretely. Real. When the aspects that my eyes cannot directly interact with, like the dissolved sugar, I can taste it, or even put it under a microscope and see the sugar in the solution.

In a sense I am esoterically directly connecting the information that my senses gather with the concept the information represents. The cup, the spoon, the tea and the sugar all exist because I can touch or taste or see it. It is measurable.

I will concede one major aspect of this, the senses can be tricked or otherwise deteriorate over time. It is a universal constant that there are exceptions to any ideology, nothing in our universe is absolute. Seemingly ironically, death, is the only exception. Standing there as the exception that seemingly breaks my own statement. But, like all things that we don’t know enough about yet, there could very well be things that change the current knowledge surrounding it. Who knows.

But I digress

The other aspect of this worth addressing is that when discussing what is real, one must also include the more abstract side of the “what is real” argument.

Love Hate Sadness Joy. These are seemingly also “real” correct? Yes, they are measurable. The love you feel for a spouse is a measurable chemical reaction between real chemical ingredients in your brain. All real. All measurable. Again by the senses.

This may not seem earth shattering but this understanding method of the universe is not universal.
